Our Pastor - Elder Jason Hendley

Elder Jason Hendley

Elder Jason Hendley has been in the ministry for over 15 years where he has affectionately served the Lord in many capacities from the usher board to the pulpit. Elder Hendley is the youngest of four sons born to Elder Charles and Gwendolyn Hendley of Ft. Pierce, Florida.

He was baptized at the Belfair Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1983 under the pastorate of Rev. Alvin Francois. While there, he was a member of the youth choir and Sunday school. He later joined Greater Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder S.P Kilpatrick. In 2001 he accepted the lord and savior into his life and became an advocate for the Lord. He then relocated to Tampa, Florida and became a member of the Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church under the pastorate of Elder Willie Williams, where he taught Sunday school and was a member of the male choir. In 2006, under the instructions of the Lord he relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida and joined the Greater Bethel Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of his grandfather, the late Elder R.J Hendley, Jr. Elder Jason Hendley accepted his call into the ministry and was licensed as a Minister of the gospel. In 2008 he returned to his hometown of Ft. Pierce, Florida and served as an associate minster for 3 years under the pastorate of his father Elder Charles Hendley.

On February 6, 2011, the congregation of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church voted for Minister Jason Hendley to become their leader. Minister Hendley went before the presbytery, passed, and was ordained as an Elder on February 19, 2011. He served the Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church as their pastor for 4 years while also serving as the Vice President of Union #5 and the Union Workshop teacher. Before returning to Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist church under the guidance of the Lord, where he served as the assistant Pastor.

Elder Hendley received his formative years of education in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Fort Pierce, Florida and graduated from R.J Hendley Christian Education Center in Riviera Beach, Florida in 1995. He furthered his education and is a graduate of Valencia College and holds a bachelor of science in leadership and ministry from Grace Christian University.

Elder Hendley married the lovely, Crystal S. Walker on December 24, 2005, and together they have four beautiful children- Amya, Caleb, Myles and Lance Hendley.

Elder Hendley was installed as the Pastor of the Mt. Zion PBC on June 2, 2018.

Elder Hendley strives to teach God’s people to eliminate the obstacles hindering them from an intimate relationship with God. Manifesting a pure heart that God may shine in their lives as a beacon of light, so those who are lost may be found. He inspires others to live with honor and integrity by the grace of God. Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
